Basketball is just the start of what we do; London Cruisers is where friendships and connections thrive. We are a friendly and inclusive LGBTQ+ basketball club that is led by and open to women, nonbinary individuals and trans players of all genders. Our non-profit club is run entirely by volunteers dedicated to creating a space that goes beyond basketball.
Our mission is simple: to boost participation in team sports within the LGBTQ+ community and provide an inclusive, affordable, and fun experience for everyone.
While basketball is at the heart of our activities, the club offers so much more. From social events like bowling, dancing, karaoke, and camping trips to post-training meetups at local restaurants and pubs, we’ve created a vibrant, welcoming environment that extends far beyond the court. Our annual tournament is a highlight, capped off with an epic party featuring our own DJ in a private club space.
We’re passionate about bringing LGBTQ+ people together and collaborating with other organizations. By joining events like Pride in London and Out For Sport, we strengthen bonds within our wider community. After friendly games and competitions, we often socialise with other teams, building meaningful connections.
We are dedicated to creating a safe space for trans and non-binary players and welcome trans people of any gender. We are committed to ensuring that everyone’s gender identity and pronouns are always respected. As part of this commitment, we are actively communicating our trans inclusion policy to all new members, as well as to the clubs and training facilities we work with.
